Universal pulleys

Universal pulleys are suitable for universal applications for all wire rope and cable turns and allow highest line speed at maximum loads. They are used especially during the assembling of ropeway systems, forestry-ropeways and in general at mobile ropeways. The pulleys comply with the Ö-Norm (Austrian standards).

GANTNER universal pulleys are characterized by their robustness and light weight, thanks to cast aluminum side walls. The deep cable grooves guarantee an exact guidance in the groove bottom. The locking of the pulley works in a simple way with a locking screw and is secured against loss. A permanent lubricated roller bearing and corrosion-resistant material contribute significantly to the fact, that the pulleys are durable equipment.

The model URA 100 is available in a broader version, the URA 100 KB, suitable even for a thicker rope. Therefore, it can be used for cable pulling works of large installations with stronger cables.

The pulleys are suitable for pulling and lifting works, whereupon they show different load capacities that are described in the technical descriptions.

The pulleys are available with three types of sheaves:

  • Steel (N): Ski lift construction, construction industry, forestry.
  • Hardened steel (H): For long and extremely tough operations and high line speeds.
  • Polyamide (K): Transmission line, shipbuilding, assembling.

Rigging pulleys

GANTNER rigging pulleys are small and light pulleys built from aluminum. They are very suitable for a temporary and flexible application during assembling works. They are very easy to handle thanks to their light weight of max. 3.2 kg (especially due to their light aluminum walls). Despite that, the rigging pulleys reach a capacity of 30 kN.

As universal pulleys, the rigging pulleys comply with the Ö-Norm (Austrian standards) and dispose of deep cable grooves that guarantee an exact guidance in the groove bottom. The locking of the pulley works in a simple way with a locking screw and is secured against loss.

The rigging pulleys are suitable for thin wire ropes as well as for synthetic ropes. A permanent lubricated ball bearing and corro¬sion-resistant material assure a high capability of resistance.

Deflection pulleys

Deflection pulleys or deflection disks are used primarily for material ropeways – especially for heavy-load ropeways with a circular drive and thick ropes – in order to deflect the hauling rope. Thereby, they can be applied in different situations, e.g. fixed on supports with the aim to deflect the wire rope to the drive unit.

The deflection pulleys can be used horizontally as well as vertically. Their strong steel structure assures high resistance – even at load capacities of 400 kN. Deflection pulleys dispose of a permanent lubricated roller bearing and a high D:d ratio that allows a minimum wear of a cable. They comply with the machinery directive, are available for various capacities and are usable at different rope diameters.
